Just beyond the Place of Rest but before the World of Renewal, exists the home of a Storyteller. Her past is as misty as the morn, no one really knows how she came to be there, she just is. The villagers fear her, but need her.
The dark beings that live just outside the Outskirts live to devour anyone that passes their way. The only way to keep the evil out, is to appease them with a story once every moon. If they like the story, they leave the villagers alone to pass through their lands, but if they don't, they satisfy their hunger on the children.
That's when they called unto the Storyteller to take on the task. She at first was hesitant. She said she didn't care what happened to the villagers since they didn't care what happened to her. But when the children who enjoyed the stories she told them begged her to help, she gave in and accepted the responsibility.
After that, every moon the Listeners would come to the village Story house to hear their story. And it's been like that ever since, for as long as the children, now old and have great grandchildren of their own, can remember. But it's always the same Storyteller, she never seems to grow a day older, just tired and keeps to herself when she's not needed.
These are her stories...I hope you enjoy them.
